Itching for a change? It's not fleas, it's spring! Involve your pet in spring cleaning to help them feel fresh and new this season. Here are five things to refresh this September for your pet!
One. Treats.
It is possible that your pet has a hoard of packaged treats in the back of the cupboard somewhere: whether you wanted to try a new treat but they didn't like it, or whether they just got forgotten when a new, more exciting treat came along. It's worth having a look through the pile of treats and throwing out ones that have gotten stale, past their best before date or that you know your pet won't eat.
Two. Bedding.
The weather will be heating up and your pet may not need the bedding they needed to keep them warm in winter. Make sure you sort through their bedding, including blankets, sheets, pillows etc., and clean any that are too dirty, or throw away/recycle ones that are too old or ratty. Put them away somewhere safe for the next season.
Three. Toys.
You don't necessary need to throw out older toys, but ensure your pet is enjoying a rotation of different toys to keep things interesting. Pack some away for a couple of months and re-introduce them when it's time to rotate.
Four. Training.
Is there some commands or tricks that you and your pet used to practice, but it's been a while? Dust off your training skills and their obedience skills and pick up the habit again. See how much they remember and how much stronger your bond is after regular training.
Five. Food.
