There are many intricate moving parts to keeping your pet alive and well-fed: food, water, and love twice a day for the rest of their lives. These five things can help make feeding your pet easier.
One. A Slow Feeder Bowl.
For cats and dogs that just totally wolf (or lion) down their food, a slow feeder bowl might be a good option. Finding a BPA free, silicone or ceramic feeder bowl with simple ridges can make a huge difference in slowing down your pet's eating, which can protect them from swallowing too much water, choking, gut discomfort or gastric bloat in deep-chested breeds. Plus, they might not beg for food right after eating because they'll have time to realise they're actually full!
Two. Kitchen scale.
Our pet meals come in 500g or 1kg portions depending on the needs of your pet. Puppies, smaller breeds and most cats won't need more than 500g per day. To find information on portion sizing you can visit our portions page. For animals in between, consider having a kitchen scale to measure it properly. With a clever scale, you can use your pet's food dish as a measuring utensil and serve it right to them.
Three. Pet Water Fountain.
If you have a cat, or a dog that drinks too little water throughout the day (or maybe even drinks up their whole bowl in one go, then you forget to fill it up again) then a water fountain may solve all your problems. A water fountain keeps your pet's water fresh and moving, making it more appealing for your pet. Plus it can keep a pet's supply available throughout the whole day.
Four. Homemade treat recipes.
Treats for training and special occasions can be extremely helpful, and homemade ones can help save on money, time and health, too (because why do pet needs ingredients such as 'processed meat' and 'artificial colours'?). Try baking up small bite-sized portions of 1 cup shredded plain chicken breast, 1/2 cup mashed sweet potato, 1 egg and 1/4 cup flour. Bake for 20 mins, let them cool and store them in an airtight container. Yum!
Five. A set and forget subscription with Pawganic Pet Food.
Simply set the schedule at every one, two, or three weeks or once a month and enjoy a stress-free feeding schedule! It will show up to your door without you having to do anything! Your pet will never run out of food then.
These five things can help make feeding your pet even easier. Ensure you're looking for products designed specifically for pets and consider other aspects like your pet's size, diet, tendency to destroy or chew and more.
