There are one hundred reasons to buy Pawganic Pet Food, not least because it takes the stress of how to feed your pet off your hands. It's as easy as defrosting their daily portion, putting it in their bowl and watching them reap the benefits of our high-quality, organic and pet nutritionist formulated food. However, there can be situations where you need to whip something up quick in the kitchen, and we want to help you be prepared for that, too. Here are five recipes every pet parent should know for any occasion.
One. Uh oh, out of food — the 'raw' meal.
Our pet meals come in 3 tiers based on the added ingredients, such as vegetation, sardines, greens powders and more. We've worked hard with Ruth Hatten to develop pet meals that suit any dog's needs, including or 'raw' meal. This raw meal is as natural as it gets, consisting only of raw meat either chicken, beef, kangaroo or a mix. If you open the freezer one day and realise you're out of pawganics, this is what you need to do: jump onto our website and order your pet's meals for pick up or delivery, then head to your freezer where you have the human stock of uncooked beef or chicken meat. Just plain beef or chicken, cut into smallish chunks is all they need.
Two. Brrr, can't you feel that — bone broth soup.
Even the shaggiest dog can still feel the chill sometimes, and it is great to provide them an opportunity to warm up from the inside out. The best way to provide your pet with a warming snack without overfeeding them or messing with their healthy gut is by heating up some unsalted bone broth, adding in some well-cooked and unseasoned sweet potato, carrot or apple and serving it just like that, bone broth soup! Honestly, this is a great human hack if you're feeling the chill but don't want to reach for your fourth cup of tea!
Three. Oh my, how you've grown — doggy birthday cake.
Dogs deserve cakes too, and whether you're celebrating their gotcha day or their actual birthday, this recipe is a great way to treat your pet to something sweet. You can even add a little candle to blow out together. Just combine an egg, a teaspoon of real, natural of honey, ¼ cup peanut butter and coconut oil, 1 cup shredded carrots, and 1 cup unbleached flour until it looks like a cake mix. Pour it into a prepared pan and bake at 175 for about 25 minutes. Cool and serve!
Four. You get what you get — a fun topping for our raw pet meals.
We really think our pet meals are a great option for your pet. Not only are they highly nutritious but they contain a lot of ingredients that help with satiety and palatability. Our pet meals are yummy, interesting and unique. However, every pet is unique and your pet may be picky. Or, your pet may be growing bored of the same meal every day. In this case, try adding these fun toppers to your pet's meal: unseasoned baked potato or sweet potato, unseasoned breadcrumbs (as an occasional treat), chopped up raw carrots or apples, frozen chopped spinach, homemade pet biscuits.
Five. Once upon a time — a fun summer treat.
Once upon a time, it was hot outside, and it will be again. Summer is on its way (140 days!) and when that comes, we'll all be dreaming of the days when it was so cold. When that happens and your pet needs to cool down, you can freeze frozen unflavoured greek yoghurt blended with a banana and blueberries. Your dog can crunch on the delicious, sweet and nutritious treat.
So, now you have five more recipes in your back pocket to make your pet's life more fun. Which one will you try?
